First, the modern Olympics have some of the best athletes compete in them. The first modern Olympics were in Athens Greece in 1896. There are many differences between ancient Olympics and modern Olympics ("Modern Olympic Games"). For example, for modern Olympics the wars do not stop like they use to and Olympic Games have even been cancelled due to world wars ("Modern Olympic Games"). The Olympics used to always be held in Olympia but now they switch the cities every time ("Modern Olympic Games"). Also, there have been events added to the Olympic Games such as archery, badminton, swimming, table tennis, and many others ("The Modern Olympics"). The modern Olympics have been changed immensely and will keep getting better and better. Next, the Olympic event the bobsled is a dangerous event held in the Winter Olympics. Bobsledding was created in Switzerland in the late 1800’s ("Bobsledding"). The bobsled was introduced to the Olympics at the 1924 Winter Games with the four man bobsled ("Bobsledding"). The two man bobsled was added eight years later and the first two women bobsled was introduced in 2002 at the Winter Olympics ("Bobsledding"). Also, the name “bobsledding” was from racer rocking their heads forward and backward ("Winter Olympics: Bobsleigh"). Bobsledding is a thrilling sport that has always been a interesting sport in the Winter Olympics.
